Mr. Accomplishment

I read a title for an article which made me stop and think about a number of things, which may make their way into today’s grist. It is not that I am completely unorganized. I am somewhat a fly by the seat of the pants kind of guy, definitely a guy, so I could have made $20 mill off Waltz or Hogg as one of them had to commission the study about how to get young men into the party that wants men winning all the girl’s medals. Not that I know how to attract young men, I just know about masculinity, which they have none of in their back pocket or anywhere else.
As I raise my head from the rabbit hole I just fell down, the title was, “Turning a Goal Into An Accomplishment”. I did not read the article because it was about running and the goal was probably about taking seconds off your four minute mile. The only way I could do that is by sitting in the front seat of the car for the distance and exiting with the ability to count the missing seconds from my new PR.
I may not be as bright as the lights at Dodger Stadium at night, but I am at least bright enough to make the dark corners of the room lose their shadows. I know about good habits, consistency, mindset, and most importantly, trusting in the Lord. I am not going to say it is not possible the author could sneak in something I have never heard of doing, but it is not likely. Now, maybe having a magic pill to keep me on track would make my ears open wide and remove the deer in the headlights stare, but I doubt the author had any of those pills ready to market.
Why that title caught my eye, I was thinking about the world events I lived through, along with those I could have lived through, (I started for Woodstock but can’t remember exactly what or who caused a detour, which means that event was certainly not on par with attending the concert of a life time), and how not only me but others from my era, are not utilized wisely by the youth of today or the proletariat in charge.
I do not remember much about my early days, actually nothing up to elementary school and then not much until the move to Florida in 6th grade. I am probably one of the elders who would be on the bottom of the Totem Pole of those who could share stories from the days of the Wild Wild West, but people like some of the demonstrators in Boulder could really keep us spell bound for more than five minutes.
BUT, how much of the spell binding sharing would be goals that became an accomplishment rather than descriptions of how life was before the internet and cell phones? Not that listening to the way it was would not be interesting and entertaining, but remember, I am organized, so I must stick to the subject at hand and continue with the subject of this grist, which is something about a title causing me to think. I know, dangerous, right? At least I am not that danger guy in New York who continues to send all those texts of himself. Did you see, he is going to run for Mayor or something, now that he is our of jail and off probation?
Whiplashing back to the goals thought, my musings incliuded trying to think of how manygoals I had accomplished, thinking of how one wanders incessantly without any goals and how the youth today in front of the screen’s only goal is to get to one level greater than their buddy is not really a good goal, there are good and bad goals, and on and on. If you must know, I was doing a few miles of streets while this musing took place.
Anyways, one goal for today was to get some grist on here to chew on. Kind of a low bar but that should be easy for a DEI hire. Chalk up one goal that can say it met Mr. Accomplishment.
